Lemurians

The Lemurians were the citizens of Lemuria, an artificial habitat created by NFT in the Black Sea. Most of the population resided in the metropolis called the Citadel of Life, which now lays in ruins east of the Glowing Canine. They used various marine vessels for transport, ranging from small jet skis to large freighters and submarines, used to access underwater NFT facilities. All Lemurians were implanted with RFID chips that contained their personal and medical information, tracked their location and allowed access to their personal financial accounts.

As a result of a great war with Biocorp roughly two hundreds and fifty years ago, all the Lemurians were killed.

This article contains heavy spoilers. Some of the higher ranking members of the Lemurian Government such as Theodore Newman, last minister of technology, had managed to flee to the Abyssal Station Zero, an underwater station in the Creeper's Bay inhabited by the Subislanders, immigrants from Atlantis which was another habitat created by NFT and located somewhere far away from Lemuria. Unlike the Atlanteans, the Lemurians were not fit for the living conditions there and as a result, suffered from various health problems such as short life expectancy and infertility. The need for special accommodations, medications and artificial means of reproduction had with time become a growing problem. Being accustomed to the conditions of the station, the native population started to become resentful of the Lemurian population, considering them to be a burden and an obstacle to the future of the station. Tensions started to grow between the two people, culminating in the majority of the Subislanders separating themselves from the Lemurians inside the R&D dome. Then, about a century ago, the gates to the R&D dome opened and armed Subislanders - Disunionists - started to pour out, dressed in clothes described as horrifying and speaking in the old Atlantean language. The disunionists began a massacre, killing any Lemurian they could find as well their own family members who refused to join them. Then, they left the station, using pre-war subspheres. They left corpses and desolation behind them, leaving only about twenty or so survivors, mostly native Lemurians and about three disjointed Subislander families. In the years following the Disunion, the population of the station began to steadily fall, with the Lemurians being often incapable of producing children. Today, only one person can be found in the Abyssal Station still alive - Todd, the last Lemurian.
