General / Mystery Solved !!! Re: Help needed... Lost HS-89 Hydraulic
« on: September 07, 2021, 06:23:36 pm »
Finally... The HS89 was nowhere to be found because... I put it in the gate mechanism.

Sorry Stygians, but repairing the mechanism with the help(?) of the robot is so very confusing. It says that you should place the components near the machine, which I tried after havin forgotten that the new valve (?) and the HS69 where sitting inside. The solution is to inspect again the inside of the machine WITH CANISTERS IN YOUR INVENTORY, then you get an option to pour a canister, try to poor a canister, see that it leaks, then ask the robot.

If you imbecibly (?) ask the robot directly, he will not budge, wherever you drop the components on the floor. If you put the canisters on the floor or in the Empty Canister, nothing happens. If you do as above with the item in your inventory, it works...

Sorry guys, but this is very convoluted.

If a developper reads this thread...

1- I have searched 3 or 4 times for the Lost HS - all stuff stack , all non empty shelves or boxes, went through the maps, even those I have not visited after getting the HS-89
2- I am pretty sure I have got it at some point
3- I am pretty sure that I have transferred to a stuff stack at some point (somewhere in faceless territory or at the Cytosine outpost, for easy reminding)
4- I am pretty sure that I have not transferred it by mistake (it is indeed in a special inventory).

Nevertheless I could not find it back... so If you have a dvlper tool that can quickly scan through the save, let me know where it is (I LOVE to know where I made 3 or 4 times the same mitake). If you have a tool and find it, please let me know where it is. If you have a tool and can't find it, then you have a bug.

Regarding getting to DC as mutant : could you infiltrate the Institute through the Utility Station (accessible from West upper rails) then via Harpocrates station (named after Grouchocrates' brother?), below the Institute. Then, kill everyone, take Eiden's key to the elevator and voilà.

ALl that is theoretical.

I’m pretty sure Six will attack and kill you if you approach him as a mutant, so this probably wouldn’t work.

At least you will die free in DC!

Thanks for the pointer; nothing for me there.

THanks again for the HS-89.

Thanks, downloaded it.

Are you a developper? If not, what tool have you used? I am really interested to search for where I "lost" the HS-89. Is there a risk that the save will crash something else in the game?

The game complained about version, I upgraded to 1.1.4.5, no more complain.

Thanks in advance man, here is the save https://www.dropbox.com/s/6fz0jixxms4quum/NoHS89.rar?dl=0

If you have the capability to search the save and the time to look into it, I am really curious to see where it was misplaced - I looked at, I believe, every stuff stack and shelves in DC.

WRT to noise...  I used it for attracting Deep Worms in a overcrowded South-Of-Labytrinth-With-A-pump room. Also for stealing a 3xp oddity at Praetorian (or whatever faction) at Core City. I tried the same at JKK, but does not work well (room is too small)

You know what it is... just have so much stuff you put them in piles of stuff. Until you lose track of one of the three Jackhammer in DC... or misplaced your HS-89.

So I checked every stuff pile in DC, checked that indeed the Hydraulic Pump south of Labyrinth is empty.

After spending 3 hours running around DC... is there a way (tool) that can help me locate >the< pile of stuff that I have overlooked or forgotten? I am NOT asking for a game editor.

PS: save file available upon request, if you have such a way to tell

Bugs / TNT vs Industrial Robot
« on: September 05, 2021, 10:24:04 pm »
W or Warehouse block 2, there is an extension of the warehouse, with an Industrial Robot patrolling, running in rectangles in the large room (many shelves with many components.

I timed its round trip and could blow some TNT at one square from it. No effect, nada, zero.

Is it the intended behaviour ?

Bugs / The Juice softlock is still there...
« on: September 02, 2021, 10:28:18 am »
Running Gog version 1.1.4.4, I just encountered the same issue as in https://stygiansoftware.com/forums/index.php?topic=4336.msg30189#msg30189.

I used my only bottle of Juice for attuning in the Lighthouse at Aegis camp. I came back to the Dude with 10 of each ingredients (thanks the wiki, because the blueprint does not appear in my list), for getting a few crafted. Yes, I checked the ingredients again and again.

I uninstalled and reinstalled v 1.1.4.4 with Expedition, and the Dude is only saying "keep on searching, man". I have read in one of the development log that the Dude would offer another botttle. No he does not.

Thanks in advance.

PS: of course, I can always reload a file from 5-6 hours ago...

Here is a like to a save file (will stay there for a month or two): https://www.dropbox.com/s/l748xymijn5tj5r/NoJuice.rar?dl=0

Bugs / White Dude - Bug or Not ? Re: Port Crag possible bug ?

White Dude can increase Agility by 3, but the question of whether this agility check at 8 is the intended behevior remains.

This is why you carry some hopper gear and steaks with you.  It's not a bug, you just screwed yourself.  You might try just popping a bunch of drugs, turning on your shield, and running for the exit.

I may have missed something... How do you raise agility by 3? I will try again to run...

In this game, I have not seen any location where you can screw your self for more than one minute (visiting a map with crawlers at level 5, drinking something proposed by a total stranger) - an autosave reload does the trick. Except of course for the Point of No Return for Deep Cavern. Another example is at Upper Rail/Utility station, in the first level vents, where the jump down is clearly shown as "jump at your own risk". And again, you can reload less than 2 minutes.

Killing everyone at for apogee and try getting the key to the room with the ladder?
They don't 'Unlock' it, they use acid to break in.

They can use acid, but I can't. Is that what you are saying ?
