General / [spoiler] will the faceless wave ever stop?
« on: December 20, 2019, 06:47:21 am »
you know, the invasion in the Institute.
even Mediant Samuel used all his ammo he's forced to fight with his bare fists he looks stupid.
some players say that the war will never end, and i should just take the elevator, but will i be able to immediately go up again after that? or at least later, through this elevator?
i think it's stupid that Eidein wouldn't just get into the damn elevator, not a minute ago he said that I am the one who should stay and defend, but he just keeps on zapping those faceless when the elevator arrived.
about 7-8 waves is my longest streak before all faceless turns their attention on me.

General / Re: Impressed With Expedition Writing (Early Spoilers)

in my years of gaming (almost 2 decades), i think it's safe to say that "light weighted" games (in term of graphics) tend to have very interesting and deep story compared to AAA games. this particular title (UnderRail) even has diverse kinds of stories, sad, happy, curious, i even lost count as to how many dialogues that made me laugh so hard (Dude, Norman, Rash, Georgis, Ladelman, Zoners, Wyatt intimidation option, and many more).
it's a fact that developers of this kind of games consider the graphics are easy to work with (plenty of recorded interviews with them), and so they can use their time and effort more to the story and contents.
another indie pixelated 2D game that captivated me with the story depth was "To The Moon" by Freebird.

General / Re: Killing aran without turning core city hostile?
« on: December 19, 2019, 08:52:02 am »
i can't find a way to kill him without turning everyone hostile.
i tried using gas grenades but he will immediately remove it (still possible before patch).
i tried selling it to him but the item is nowhere in his pocket to steal it back.
i even tried to kill him after i sold it, but the item is still nowhere in his body.
i think it's Styg's way to prevent cheating to win money+item.
but i personally prefer unique gears to add up to my collection, his armor looks perfect on me with Mephisto as my name.
as for money, you can always make money, one way or the other.
so yeah, i refused to sell it. my tip for killing him in the basement is to fire the Ethereal Torch around his spot as soon as you landed on your tele-glyph, you'll know why.

Suggestions / umm...cooking?
« on: December 17, 2019, 09:30:27 pm »
i think it's obvious. so we don't have to rely on food merchants to provide the means to get temporary buffs or base stat/skill boost.
we just have to have the ingredients ready (by hunting) and the recipe, just like crafting any other things.
it adds up to the survival element because we can cook them on the go on a campfire.
even better if we can craft a single-use campfire (with duration before it disappears) to cook something anywhere in the caves.
add new items like "Rathound Meat" so we can cook the Rathound Skewer ourselves, i personally eat this often.
and the recipes could be in the form of a piece of paper, or a book that works just like any flash drive blueprint. they can be bought from food merchants or certain NPCs who likes food, Mordre for instance, will be glad to share the Blue Eel Sandwich recipe for some charons or mini side quest. or Junkyard Surprise from Karim, or a random recipe from Jon The Ugly, etc.

General / Re: is the Naga Protector repairable?
« on: December 15, 2019, 08:18:26 pm »
Probably not. It's easily solvable by simply introduced "genocide" to the friendly natives
well, i'm so eager to teach that to them, but some other players says that the can learn some lore/story by talking to a certain tribesman, is that even possible? because when i see them at their territory outskirts, their health bars are RED, that means they are hostile.

General / is the Naga Protector repairable?
« on: December 14, 2019, 09:29:42 pm »
in my last defense against the tribesmen invasion, my pet Naga was literally killing itself like an emo (with its AoE cannon).
after that its health is, like, less than 5% left.
wouldn't survive another invasion, hell, wouldn't even survive the next first wave.
no option to replace Plasma Core nor any means of recharging it with batteries.

Any idea on how to activate the slimy tablet?
i suppose you can give it to Seeger to recover the data inside the tablet.
(btw, i finally managed to decipher the musical cryptic code, the puzzle is pretty satisfying)

some doctors also may offer you a healing service to completely replenish your Health and Psi Energy, you can consider this similar to resting point in other games

i just got past the Marsh, didn't find anything either besides the Slimy Tablet, there's one map i haven't checked thoroughly, though. because i ran out of bullets getting past them pipeworkin' locusts.
i'm currently deciphering the musical notes with pen and paper on my desk  :P

Suggestions / Re: Self-driving module for Jet-ski
« on: December 13, 2019, 07:38:17 am »
You could do it yourself by shift+click on the map, it'll allow you to adds custom note on each tile
i know, but that feature is for making a note in general. we're talking specifically about jet skis, right?
if we have to make a note each time we park a jet ski, then remove it again after we get back to it, it would be a hassle.

Suggestions / Re: title for achieving something
« on: December 13, 2019, 07:36:07 am »
Btw, you could actually unlock additional title through arena, based on your way to clear Arena, check the wiki for list of title
i know, but it's only about Arena, and mostly only for Core City people.
but these titles are for other settlements or major towns, corresponds to our major achievement while we were there.

Suggestions / title for achieving something

become the Arena champion is the inspiration.
some NPCs who acknowledge our achievement of becoming the highest champion will call us with "Invictus" or "The Invictus" to replace our name in the dialogues, not all, but only some NPCs who knows or regular viewers of Arena to make it more sensible.

it would be nice if we also have nicknames for respective settlements, for example :
some Hathorians will replace our name with "Kingslayer" after we helped them kill the Rathound King.
Geezer Ford will call us "Kingfisher" after he admitted that we are the better fisherman than him.
some Foundry people will call us "Beastslayer" after we killed the Beast.
and so on.

or, at the very least, make our "last used" jet ski to appear on mini map as an icon to find where it is.
one could forget where they parked it when they got too carried away killing pirates and crabs
