Fix Gloria

Once you have earned Foundry's mayor's trust, he'll tell you more about the situation in the mines and the rock creatures.

It is possible to gain his trust by passing a persuasion check (60 effective skill required), killing the leader of Ironheads, by solving the Foundry murders or resolving the Olivia/Nicolas assassination situation by reporting their planned murders to Chief.

Objectives

  • Learn more about the strange creatures that inhabit Foundry's mine
  • You are going to need some help if you want to learn more about the Foundry mine creatures. Find an expert biologist and bring him either samples from or, if possible, the creatures themselves.
  • Bring the captured borer to Ezra. Hopefully he'll be able to tell you more about it.
  • Ezra wants you to bring him a sample from one of the bladelings to analyze. Only then will he be able to tell you how to defeat the Beast.
  • Find a way to stop the big creature that, along with its smaller cousins, threatens Foundry. Start by going to the mine and talking to Marcos, the mining supervisor, and Saban, a guard that survived the encounter with the Beast.

Walkthrough

You can get some information from Marcos and Saban, visit them to learn more about what happened.

SGS's biologist, Quinton, can help you. You'll need to bring him a Captured Borer in a Dog Crate. He discovers that the creatures have usually high psionic readings, and directs you to Ezra.

Ezra in turn needs a piece of the creatures once he has examined the borer. You can either kill a Bladeling or use a Jackhammer to mine one of the many chomium rock deposits in the Crystal Cave deep in Foundry's mines to get an Impure Chromium Blade. After you bring that to Ezra, he can tell you more and reveal a potential weakness in The Beast: extreme heat. And he creates a Psi-amplifier so you can attract the beast (1500 classic XP, 2 oddity XP)

Once you know the Beast's weakness, return to Foundry's mayor and suggest using the furnaces to melt the Beast. Mayor won't like the idea of luring the Beast inside Foundry, and you'll have to find another way to deal with it. (1500 classic XP, 2 oddity XP)
