Walkthrough

Head to the east end of Foundry's mines, where the Crystal Caves are. Bring some batteries and pick up a Jackhammer from the mines. Start mining the Chromium Rock deposits, but be prepared to fight - some of them may have already developed into Bladelings instead of releasing immature bladeling larvae and yielding 1-3 Impure Chromium Blade. You need 30 impure chromium blades to get the furnace going (500 classic XP, 1 oddity XP). You can use the levers in the mine to call for the minecart, which can be used to gather the heavy chromium blades and be called to the furnace.

Once the furnace is loaded and ready, you need to gather some people to help you. You won't get any help from Foundry Guard, but some individuals will help you. Saban in the foundry mines is more than willing to help, and so is Dan in southwest corner of Foundry. Dan also brings a Plasma Sentry to the fight. But most importantly, you need Ezra's help. He will create a Psi-amplifier to lure the beast into the furnace.

Once you're prepared, head to Gloria, set and activate the psi-amplifer. The psi-amplifier will attract a waves of Bladelings, which you will have to kill before the Beast arrives. When the Beast arrives, you will pull the lever automatically – you don't have stand close to it. If you are playing on a higher difficulty be prepared for a long fight. On DOMINATING difficulty, the bladelings arrive with 10 stacks of Taste for Blood and natural Adrenaline Rush that increases their action points by 15, dodge and evasion by 10%, and strength by 4.

The Bladelings are weak vs. Energy, Bio and Acid damage – if you can't use appropiate guns it's possible to create a death zone at the north eastern top end of the stair with Acid Blob Traps and stacking Gas Grenades.

Number of bladelings (rounds until next wave)
Easy Normal Hard DOMINATING
Wave 1: 1 (5) 2 (4) 3 (2) 4 (2)
Wave 2: 2 3 (6) 4 (3) 5 (3)
Wave 3: 4 5 (4) 6 (4)
Wave 4: 6 (5) 7 (5)
Wave 5: 7 (6) 8 (6)
Wave 6: 8 9 (7)
Wave 7: 10

Once the Beast is dead, entire Foundry will celebrate your victory. (4000 classic XP, 1 oddity XP).

You can return to the furnace pool and drain the molten metal to discover the remains of the Beast - its head and an Unscathed Scale worth 6 oddity XP.
