Trip to North Underrail

Your journey to North Underrail has come to a screeching halt and you found yourself in a strange military facility defended by an army of soldiers in strange armor. Explore the location to get to the bottom of the situation.

This quest is optional and its completion is not required to return to South Underrail.

Objectives

  • Investigate the Compound

Walkthrough

Enter the compound through main entrance or alternatively via ventilation shaft in the NW corner of the main entrance map (100 Lockpicking or 9 Strength required). Once inside, you need to access the restricted section of the compound. The main gates can be raised with Restricted Access Keycard (The Compound) found in a desk in the armory upper floor office. The office can be accessed either from the entrance upper floor or from the side of the armory. Doors to the office with the keycard are randomly unlocked from one side and locked (120 Hacking required) from the other side. Alternatively, player can enter the restricted section by raising a gate to the storage in the armory with enough Strength and use a vent there to bypass the main gate to restricted section.

Ultimate goal of this quest is to reach Cognator in his medchamber in command headquarters. You need Cognator Medchamber Keycard (The Compound) to unlock his room. The keycard appears randomly in one of the two medical sections, either inside a file cabinet north of the desk with the Blueprint: Parafibrotic Regeneration Catalyst (medical section 1) or in the desk in the Project Pasithee presentation room (medical section 2).

Once you reach Cognator, either kill him or interact with him to end the quest. Killing him is not necessary to finish the quest, however killing him will cause Exosoldier patrols to stop spawning and any remaining soldiers will lose their Sensorimotor Command stacks.

Spoiler

If you kill less than 12 Exosoldiers, Cognator will provide more responsive and if player also has the Second Sight or is a psionic, he will then ask player for help to win a war against unknown invaders, immediately starting Void Battle quest should the player accept.
