Talking to the commander and allowing your mind to be read will potentially allow you to receive several batches of W2C ammo or grenades, as well as healing items. Whether the Faceless consider you an ally depends on acts previously committed in the game. You need +3 net positive acts for friendly status, +2 for neutral, and hostile for less than that. In the latter case it's recommended not to talk to the commander at all, as turning Faceless hostile in DC spawns an endless amount of stealth-equipped [[Faceless Gaunt]]s.

Reputation with the Faceless

This article needs cleanup. You can help Underrail Wiki by updating it.
Reason given: Faceless attitude calculation incorrect, spoiler style

Talking to the commander and allowing your mind to be read will potentially allow you to receive several batches of W2C ammo or grenades, as well as healing items. Whether the Faceless consider you an ally depends on acts previously committed in the game. You need +3 net positive acts for friendly status, +2 for neutral, and hostile for less than that. In the latter case it's recommended not to talk to the commander at all, as turning Faceless hostile in DC spawns an endless amount of stealth-equipped Faceless Gaunts.

Warning: The following contains spoiler information for multiple parts of the game. Note: The information hasn't yet been independently verified.

As for the acts accounted for Faceless reputation [1] [2]

  • Rail Crossing encounter with Buzzer - +1 for allowing to kill him, no change for persuading to leave him alone, -1 for killing the Mindreader (other members of the group not taken into account, neither are the robots)
  • The Faceless recon encounter near Foundry - +1 for telling the truth, otherwise unknown–the patch notes say fighting them results in always-hostile reputation
  • Fighting the endless reinforcements at the Core City blockade - always hostile
  • Rescuing the captive near the tuneller in Core City and offering healing supplies - +1
  • Institute invasion force in the West Wing - unknown, freeing aforementioned captive allows to avoid combat
  • Fighting the invasion force in the Institute's elevator room - no change
