It wasn't planned to be a place where that quest would start. It was meant to be a really (reeeally) old hideout of his and the poster inside was from a long past (decades ago). The idea we were running with is that the quest should start from relevant (time-wise) events so that they would indicate that the case is still hot.

However, now that I think about it, it's not that much of an extra work to add an additional way to start the quest. It will be implemented for the next content update (not in a hotfix). It will feature some new dialog options as well.

There's a hidden modifier (affinity) that affects the outcome of your purchases. This modifier goes up and down as you talk to Phreak about various things. It works as intended, however, I could tweak its range to be a bit more sensible.

Edit: Oh, I see now what you mean, it's the visual display of what you get that causes the confusion. Fixed for the next update.

That certainly does sound weird. There are no modifications to any of the creatures in there, hence their loot tables should be the same as usual. For now, I've applied a small change to the logic to their death event(s) during the fade out. We'll see if the same issue persists into the future after that.

Phreak's story will progress on its own after a player completes DC. This is intended behavior. We'll eventually add some more dialog to the oligarchs in order to elaborate further on what's actually going on with him.

Hmm, I don't really understand what's actually going on. Are you closing the door while abom is standing in the doorway, causing the gates to lock/freeze him in position? Once the doors are closed, they should (i believe) squeeze him out and push him to a nearby (walkable) tile. If my assumption is wrong, could you provide a screenshot of the bug in particular?

The main purpose of those gates there is to exploit them as much as possible, in order to defeat the Abomination.

Have you eliminated a certain robed figure near the research facility? If you did, there's your answer. otherwise it could be a bug.
