Dess is a member of the Chemical Assault Unit, a Protectorate special task force. She is armed with a crossbow, and carries acid, burrower, cave ear, and crawler poison bolts.
Dess is a "boss" character, and on DOMINATING difficulty will appear with 400% of her regular health.
Background
Dess was born in Hexagon, North Underrail. Most of her early life and career were what can only be described as thoroughly mundane. She was an exemplary citizen, and excelled at her job, teaching math in a local private school — until one day she was found stabbing her ex-husband to death not far from the city of Dis.
What triggered this dramatic change in the personality of Dess is a mystery, but after the incident she began to demonstrate highly psychopathic tendencies she makes no effort to suppress or hide. This made her a perfect candidate for the CAU, and has been a valuable member of the unit ever since.
Dess loves her new job, and revels in the extreme methods they routinely employ. She is very proud of her current kill count of ninety-nine, a proof of her effectiveness despite being physically far below military standards. Captain Mareth praises her youthful enthusiasm, skill, and willingness to follow orders, although he is slightly concerned about her rashness that at times puts the entire unit into unnecessary danger.
