Walkthrough
You progress in the arena simply by winning fights.
Challenger fights
You'll start your arena career in these fights, fighting alongside two other challengers against groups of wildlife. Since each match has a large group of enemies, AoE weapons such as grenades are especially effective.

Gladiator fights
After defeating Bull's Eye, you will become a gladiator and the spectators will give you a nickname based on your fighting style. All gladiator fights are 1v1 fights against other gladiators. Garry just outside the arena building can give you information about your next opponent and some tips. If Lanista tells you to wait while he organizes the next match, visiting Garry and returning is enough to get the next match started.
After you have defeated gladiators up to and including Chemical Agent, you can apply for the Gauntlet.
1. Master Exploder |
Master Exploder deals mostly heat (and mechanical) damage. He is near-immune to heat and completely immune to burning thanks to his suit. He also has some mechanical resistance. He is not very agile. Details:

2. Chemical Agent |
Chemical Agent fights using acid weaponry and he also has two acid-spewing mutant dogs as pets. Acid damage resistance/threshold is extremely helpful, and so is crowd control or AoE damage. Details:
Reward:
|
3. Surgeon |
The Surgeon is an agile knife fighter. Uses nets to entangle you. Uses a lot of bleeds to cut you up. Details:
Reward:
|
4. Zap |
Both Zap and his plasma sentry have high-quality energy shields, making EMP Grenades and EMP Mines extremely effective weapons against them. Details:
Reward:
|
5. Stygian Exorcist |
The Stygian Exorcist is the first proper psionic you will face in the arena. He's very weak defensively. Details:
Reward:
|
6. Dread Lord |
Instead of Dread Lord you will be fighting Carnifex, or Garry as you know him. He is the final and hardest arena challenger. Carnifex is a deadly fist fighter who has very high initiative (29), so he often gets the first turn. He uses nets to entangle you and he also has very high stats all around. He deals only mechanical damage at melee range but he can also incapacitate, stun and entagle you with his feats and equipment. Details:
